Law to address workplace harassment and bullying a necessity
LETTERS: Workplace misconduct includes uttering profanities or behaving in a crude, vulgar and abusive manner towards one’s subordinates or colleagues.
Likewise, it includes excluding or isolating workers, assigning unrelated or impossible tasks, deliberately changing work rosters much to their inconvenience or undermining the job performance of a worker without a valid basis.
Such workplace misconduct should be viewed seriously as its occurrence is rampant and which undoubtedly has implications on workers such as reducing the victim’s job motivation or job satisfaction.

It is high time for Malaysia to roll out a law prohibiting all forms of workplace harassment and bullying.
The proposed law should protect workers against such uncivilised behaviour.
